Vanessa has been a professional writer for over 25 years. She began her career writing fiction, and published two novels with HarperCollins.

In 2003, Vanessa was awarded a Project Fellowship by the Royal Literary Fund to teach writing skills at Plan International UK. Since then she has focussed on writing for development and humanitarian organizations.

​

From 2015-2019, Vanessa was a nutrition writer at the World Food Programme’s headquarters in Rome. As well as writing for 2FAS, she also currently writes for the HIV Nutrition unit in WFP’s Mozambique Country Office.

Vanessa holds a degree in English Language and Literature from Oxford University.
